چکیده
In this paper, we tackle the hydro unit commitment problem and scheduling in a valley. We first decompose into several simpler subproblems, one for each reservoir/plant. Then, model of them as an optimization on graphs with or without resource constraints. compare our method commercial solver mixed integer linear programming, run formulation show promising results.

Stochastic Unit Commitment in Hydro-Thermal Power Production Planning
Economic needs and the ongoing liberalization of European electricity markets stimulate the interest of power utilities in developing models and optimization techniques for the generation and trading of electric power under uncertainty. Utilities participating in deregulated markets observe increasing uncertainty in load (i.e., demand for electric power) and prices for fuel and electricity on s...

The stochastic and intermittent characteristic of wind power present great challenge to the operation of power system. A novel unit commitment problem (UCP) model is proposed in this paper. As the status of thermal units need to be described by binary number, Binary Particle Swarm Optimization (BPSO) algorithm is proposed to find the optimum schedule scheme. Case studies on the 10 units system ...
متن کاملHydro-electric unit commitment subject to uncertain demand
Hydro-electric power utilities convert the potential energy of water to electricity through the operation of generation turbines. Each turbine unit has an operating range and incurs a fixed start-up cost. The problem of determining which turbines should be operating at any point during the day whilst ensuring that the demand for electricity is satisfied is known as the unit commitment problem. ...
